Aguadas (Caldas)

This town, located in the north of Caldas department, is known as the "City of fogs" by its constant fog. Aguadas is a colorful town, which was founded in 1808 and since then is known for his landscapes, architecture, folklore and especially by the friendliness of its people who are in charge of preserving the traditions and customs of the typical paisa town. In addition to the wide variety of natural, archaeological, cultural and religious attractions, this amazing place offers visitors the historic center, declared a National Monument in 1982. 

 

Aguadas is 78,2 miles  (126 kilometers) away from Manizales. This lovely town make a tourist feel amazed with its coffe and sugar cane plantations. This place is known for its handcrafts made with iraca palm and for being the home of the National Festival of Colombian Pasillo or Colombian Waltz.
